Experienced players will probably be familiar with most of the addons mentioned here, but newcomers will definitely find plenty of useful recommendations. Leatrix Plus

With lots of quality-of-life improvements, it lets you automate many important processes: picking up and turning in quests, accepting summon and resurrection requests, selling junk and repairing items, and more. There also are plenty of graphical and UI options, from adjusting weather density to combining all your addon buttons in one place. It’s a really great tool with a ton of features, so take the time to explore the options and customize everything to your liking.
TomTom
This tool makes navigating the in-game world so much easier by showing you the exact direction you need to follow. It’s super simple: place a marker on the map, and a big green arrow will guide you to your desired destination. Plus, there’s another great feature: when you’re looking up locations on WowHead, you can copy a special TomTom command and paste it directly into the game. And voila! Now you know exactly where to head to.
All The Things (ATT)
Completionists and collectors, rejoice! This addon lets you keep track of everything you need to collect and complete in the game, so no achievement or quest will be left unnoticed. ATT also provides a full list of all item appearances, along with details on how and where to get them. This is especially relevant in Cata since we’ll finally be getting the long-awaited transmog feature.
Questie
Your number one tool for questing, Questie shows all available quests right on your map, providing info on difficulty levels, rewards, and requirements at a glance. It also marks where to start and turn in quests, and, paired with the TomTom addon, guides you in the right direction based on your objectives.
Deadly Boss Mobs (DBM)
Just like some of the previously mentioned tools, DBM is a well-established classic in the world of addons. It’s incredibly helpful for raid and dungeon mechanics for both newbies and more advanced players dealing with instanced content. What the addon does is very simple: it notifies you about incoming or ongoing spells and casts and gives you tips on what to do about them.
GTFO
This addon does exactly what its name suggests — it tells you when to get out! By tracking debuffs, GTFO gives you sound alerts when you’re standing in something you shouldn’t be. It’s a lifesaver for avoiding damage, especially in raids where everything is hectic and it’s hard to watch what you step on.
Reputation Guide

This tool is perfect for both occasional Auction House visitors and those intending to earn gold through item flipping.
GatherMate2
This addon remembers and adds map markers for all your farming spots for herbs, ore, treasures, and other goodies. It’s an excellent tool for crafters and those gathering materials for sale.
AtlasLoot
AtlasLoot shows you the loot tables for every boss in the game. With it, you can easily plan your gear, always knowing what items await you in dungeons and raids and which bosses to farm to get the desired loot.
